Vibeslist debuts in Venice: artificial intelligence tells the story of the city beyond the tourist trails

The new digital platform, created by an Italian-Swiss team, combines suggestions from residents and AI to offer authentic experiences in shops, restaurants, and hidden gems.

VENICE – Getting off the beaten tourist track to discover authentic corners of cities with the help of artificial intelligence. This is the goal of Vibeslist, a digital platform that has chosen Venice as the next stop on its experimental journey.

The project, developed by an international team with Italian roots, stems from the idea of combining technology and local knowledge. It is based on over two thousand recommendations collected from residents, which are processed by AI to suggest personalized places and experiences: from small neighborhood bakeries to artisan shops, cafes, and lesser-known cultural spaces.

According to the founders, the challenge is to offer not just a list of places to visit, but a tool capable of conveying “the personality of cities” and helping travelers—or those who live in an area—to connect with what they feel is closest to their way of life. “We don’t want to just describe places,” they explain, “but the emotions that those places convey.”

After an initial launch phase in several Italian cities such as Parma, Perugia, Verona, Taranto, and Como, the platform is now coming to Venice, with the intention of continuing on an international scale in the future. This choice confirms how artificial intelligence is finding increasingly diverse applications, not only in the technological and manufacturing sectors, but also in the promotion of local areas and communities.
