Great performance by Alba De Silvestro, second in the individual ski mountaineering event. Murada in fifth place is competing for the overall standings victory
PUY ST. VINCENT (FRANCE) – In the penultimate stage of the World Cup season, also an event designated to award the youth world titles, a splendid second place for Alba De Silvestro in the individual event in Puy St. Vincent, France.
The athlete from Belluno, based in Valtellina, battled with the French competitors Emily Harrop and Axelle Gachet Mollaret, with the latter winning in 1:15’53″9. Behind her, the Italian finished with a delay of 2’35″1, achieving her second personal podium of this winter after the third place marked at the beginning of March on the Azerbaijani snow of Shahdag, also in the individual event. The total rises to four considering the two podiums collected in the mixed event with her husband Michele Boscacci.
With Harrop third at +2’59″7, there is the excellent fifth place of Giulia Murada with a gap of 4’59 preceded also by the Austrian Johanna Hieme. The Italian thus maintains the top of the overall standings, rising to 739 points, followed by the Frenchwoman (461) and Ravinel (558).
De Silvestro (171) and Murada (160) also lead the specialty rankings.
In the early afternoon, the youth trials are scheduled, valid for both the World Cup and the assignment of category world titles. On Thursday, March 26, the program repeats with the vertical.
