A stamp dedicated to Art Nouveau in Italy has been issued
Rome – A regular stamp belonging to the thematic series “The Excellence of Italian Cultural Heritage” dedicated to “Art Nouveau in Italy” was issued yesterday, July 6, by the Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy.
The stamp, related to rate B, was produced in a print run of one hundred sixty thousand twenty copies, distributed in sheets of twenty-eight stamps. Printed by the Italian State Mint and Polygraphic Institute S.p.A. in rotogravure, on neutral white self-adhesive paper with optical brightener, the design is signed by Andrea Speziali.

The cartoon depicts the delicate and harmonious face of a woman with a thick and sinuous mane, rendered with fluid and enveloping lines. The hair, adorned with an elegant decorative clasp, is arranged in soft curls that evoke the natural and stylized movement typical of the Art Nouveau style.
The portrait is set within a finely crafted ornamental frame, enriched with elegant motifs of water lilies and aquatic leaves that intertwine with a sinuous rhythm. Completing the stamp are the legend “ART NOUVEAU IN ITALY,” the inscription “ITALY” and the tariff indication “B”.
The first day cancellation will be available at the philatelic counter of the post office in Rimini.
A philatelic folder has been created containing the single stamp, the sheet, the canceled postcard, the first day of issue envelope, the card, and the informational bulletin. The stamp and related philatelic products (postcards, cards, and informational bulletins) will be available at post offices with philatelic counters and at the “Spazio Filatelia” locations in the area and on the website http://filatelia.poste.it.
