For the first time, scientific contributions from students alongside those of major international figures in Psychology such as Abram and Argüero Su: virtual reality, psychotherapy, legality, mindfulness, AI, and symbolic spirituality
VENICE. What impact do Artificial Intelligence and Virtual Reality have on the psychophysical well-being of individuals? This was discussed in Venice on May 17th during the international congress “Global Frontiers in Psychological Research: Emerging Trends and Challenges”, promoted by the Istituto Universitario Salesiano di Venezia (IUSVE) at its campus in Mestre, from 8:30 AM to 6:30 PM.+
The event represents an absolute novelty in the national and international academic scene, both for the high scientific profile of the guests involved, and for the innovative educational approach that also involves university students. For the first time, in fact, young students in training will not be mere listeners, but co-authors and speakers of scientific papers, working alongside established academics and professionals in oral presentations and poster sessions.
A rare setting in large international conferences, which testifies to IUSVE’s concrete commitment to integrating teaching, research, and on-field training, truly putting students at the center.
The works will be inaugurated by two internationally renowned guests:
- Professor Ken Abrams from Carleton College (Minnesota, USA), known for his research on the use of virtual reality in preventing post-traumatic stress disorder;
- Professor Aimée Argüero Fonseca from the Universidad Autónoma de Nayarit (Mexico), founder of the university’s telepsychology service and director of the “PsicoCiencias” laboratory, active in the fields of cognitive and experimental psychology.
The congress will consist of a morning plenary session and afternoon sessions of oral presentations and thematic workshops, held in the Aula Magna and classrooms of the IUSVE Palace.
The content covers the entire spectrum of contemporary psychology, with an integrated and multidisciplinary approach that combines psychology, neuroscience, pedagogy, sociology, and law.
Ample space will be dedicated to the most current social issues – from gender violence to the relationship between teenagers and the digital world, from palliative care to animal-assisted interventions – and particular attention will be given to technological innovation, with workshops and insights on the use of virtual reality and artificial intelligence in clinical, educational, and forensic practices.
The event therefore aims to be a crossroads between scientific knowledge, social responsibility, and new technological frontiers, offering a high-profile training experience to researchers, students, and industry professionals.
