In the second seasonal stage of the World Cup in shooting, success for Gabriele Rossetti in skeet and third place for Martina Bartolomei

ALMATY (KAZAKHSTAN) – Second stage of the World Cup in shooting and double podium for the Italians. On the range of the Asanov Shooting Club in Almaty, Kazakhstan, Gabriele Rossetti achieved victory in the men’s skeet contest while Martina Bartolomei finished third in the women’s competition.

For the Olympic champion, this marks the fourth victory in the top international circuit after the triumphs at the World Cup Final in Nicosia (Cyprus) in 2015 and at the events in Doha (Qatar) and Cairo (Egypt) in 2023.

The thirty-one-year-old Tuscan, second in the qualifying sessions (124/125), continued to demonstrate his feeling with the Asian shooting line in the final act reserved for the top eight athletes, finishing his performance ahead of all opponents with a new world record (35/36). Second was the German Sven Korte (34/35), by just one target difference, and third was the Japanese Shotaro Toguchi (30/32).

Great performance also by Martina Bartolomei. Third in the preliminary round (119/125), the queen of the Polish European Games in Krakow 2023, maintains her position in the final. The home favorite Assem Orynbay wins, matching the world record with 33/36. Second is the Chinese Yiting Jiang (30/36), who finished ahead of the thirty-five-year-old from Valdarno (27/32). For the Italian, this marks her first individual podium of her career in a World Cup event.
