Federica Brignone awarded for the second consecutive year, the fourth overall, as Athlete of the Year 2026 FISI
MILAN – A sporting achievement on the edge of impossibility. Two Olympic gold medals less than 10 months after the terrible injury that could have cost her career. But Federica Brignone is someone who never gives up. The opportunity of the Games at home was too tempting to miss.
And here are the two incredible victories on the slopes of Cortina in the superG and in the giant slalom. There was no doubt about who to award as Athlete of the Year during the FISI Media Day on Tuesday.
The La Salle Tiger thus confirms for the second consecutive year, repeating the success of last season and reaching four career triumphs after those in 2020 and 2022 in partnership with Sofia Goggia. The champion from Aosta thus becomes the athlete who has won this award the most times along with Stefania Belmondo.
