Colosseum: new Scientific Committee appointed

The Minister of Culture Alessandro Giuli renews the advisory body of the archaeological park, strengthening the international role of the symbol monument of Rome

ROME – The Minister of Culture Alessandro Giuli has appointed the new Scientific Committee of the Archaeological Park of the Colosseum, a body providing technical-scientific support for the activities of the monumental area.

The Committee will be chaired by the interim director of the Institute, Simone Quilici, and will remain in office for five years. It includes: Andrea Carandini, appointed by the Minister of Culture; Jacopo Bonetto, indicated by the Higher Council for Cultural and Landscape Heritage; Adriano La Regina, designated by the Lazio Region; and Gaetano Lettieri, appointed by the Municipality of Rome.

The renewal represents a fundamental step to consolidate the collaboration between the Archaeological Park, academic institutions, and local authorities. The goal is to strengthen the role of the Colosseum as an international reference point in the enhancement and protection of Italian cultural heritage.
