A multidisciplinary workshop to understand social change and build shared visions, thanks to the collaboration between Circolo Veneto and CGIA of Mestre
MESTRE (VE) – An innovative educational project, designed as a space for reflection, dialogue, and active participation. This is the heart of the 2025/2026 edition of the Scuola di Formazione (Training School) of the Circolo Veneto, presented to the press at the headquarters of CGIA in Mestre and titled: “Communities and Territories: a workshop on the new dimensions of belonging.”
A program spanning an entire academic year – from October 2025 to June 2026 – that will address some of the most urgent and profound themes of collective life from different perspectives: work, health, education, citizenship, media, geopolitics, spirituality. The goal is clear: to build authentic relationships, generate civic awareness, and strengthen a renewed sense of community.
The press conference featured key project figures: Christiano Costantini, President of Circolo Veneto, Roberto Bottan, President of CGIA of Mestre, Mattia Esposito, Coordinator of the Training School, and City Councilor Simone Venturini. Venturini emphasized the importance of creating spaces to deeply understand societal change: “Transformations are becoming increasingly rapid and radical. Initiatives like this school are crucial because they focus on key sectors – work, health, social cohesion – where revolutions are already underway. Only by understanding our present can we build a future based on dialogue, knowledge, and shared vision.”
A message that aligns with the historical mission of Circolo Veneto. “We have always worked to raise civic awareness and promote participation in community life,” recalled Costantini. “Today more than ever, we need opportunities to explore topics that affect citizens and territories, in collaboration with the most active players in the city. Only in this way can we build a fairer, more supportive, and more community-oriented society, where volunteering also plays a fundamental role.”
The 2025/2026 Training School was created through strong synergy between Circolo Veneto and CGIA of Mestre – a collaboration that Roberto Bottan described as “a starting point for a renewed commitment to the city.” According to Bottan, the program’s moments of reflection will encourage all stakeholders to examine the many dimensions of community life – from the urban fabric to healthcare, from politics to spirituality – to address the distortions caused by a rapidly changing society.
A path that goes beyond theory, aiming to become a concrete space for exchange and dialogue. “In a time of major change,” explained coordinator Mattia Esposito, “we felt the urgency to understand how forms of belonging to the community are evolving. The school will bring experts and prominent figures to the city, offering citizens a free space to engage, reflect, and actively participate in the social and cultural life of the territory.”
The calendar of events – all free of charge – will open on October 30 with “Community and Society” by Prof. Filippo Barbera, and will conclude on June 18, 2026 with “Community and Spirituality” led by Patriarch Francesco Moraglia. Guests will include scholars, professionals, economists, university professors, and representatives from the worlds of healthcare, education, geopolitics, and urban planning. Each event will take place at 8:00 PM at the Novotel in Via Ceccherini, Mestre, to encourage broad public participation.
In an era where communities seem to be falling apart and territories struggle to find new forms of cohesion, this Training School aims to be a space for listening and collective construction. A workshop where people can learn, understand, and imagine the future together.
