Thanks to the second place in the mixed relay in Villars sur Ollon, Alba De Silvestro and Michele Boscacci win the World Cup

VILLARS SUR OLLON (SWITZERLAND) – Alba De Silvestro scores a double. After winning the World Cup in the individual event, she also takes the mixed relay title with her husband Michele Boscacci. Thanks to the second place achieved on the snow of Villars sur Ollon, Switzerland, the Italian couple indeed outshines their opponents and brings the total to three Italian World Cups this season, including Giulia Murada‘s in the Overall.

A hard-fought race from the start for the home couple in Valtellina, with the Belluno champion in a continuous head-to-head with the Spaniard Oriol Cardona Coll, racing with Ana Alonso Rodriguez, who ultimately wins after 33’55″6 of racing. Right behind is Boscacci, crossing the finish line at 12″8 ahead of the French team made up of Celia Perillat Pessey and Thibault Anselmet, who finish third at 18″1.

Out of the podium, Austria’s Johanna Hiemer and Paul Verbnjak are in fourth place at 40″8, with Germany and Switzerland in fifth and sixth place. This last result allows the Italians to take home the World Cup in their category, bringing Italy to 336 points, ahead of the Swiss and the Germans.

A success achieved thanks to the second place in the debut race in the United States, in Val Martello, and in the final act in Villars, as well as the fifth place marked in the Pyrenees at Boi Taull.
