1 Mins read

This afternoon the Giro d’Italia passed through the Vatican. “It is a pleasure to greet you in this final stage of the Giro d’Italia. I hope it is a truly beautiful day for all of you. Know that you are role models for young people all over the world. The Giro d’Italia is truly loved, not only in Italy. Cycling is so important, as is sports in general,” said Pope Leo XIV welcoming the cyclists.

“Thank you for everything you do, and be truly role models! And I hope that, as you have learned to take care of the body, may the spirit also be always blessed and that you are always attentive to the whole human being: body, mind, heart, and spirit.”

Pope Leo XIV addressed the participants and imparted his blessing: “May God bless all of you in this final stage of the Giro d’Italia. Congratulations to all of you, and know that you are always welcome here in the Vatican, you are always welcome by the Church that represents God’s love for all people.”
