It hasn’t been an easy journey
Here is the testimony of the daughter who saw her mother come out of the tunnel of alcoholism: “There were dark moments when it seemed impossible, but she never stopped fighting. Now I see her smiling, I see her present, and every day I am grateful for her rebirth. She is an example of resilience and love that inspires me to believe that, with willpower and support, it is truly possible to transform one’s life” – she continues. Even though sometimes words are not enough to express what I have inside, I want to tell you how proud I am of you. Of how you found the courage to face the difficulties, finally starting to take care of yourself and, through this journey, you have also given us peace.
Every morning, when I wake up and I know you are there, with my mind and my heart, I thank God for this immense gift. My wish is that everyone can find the strength and the path that you have found. We must never lose hope, and as that song says, “you have to believe in it”.
I am immensely grateful both to A.A. and to you. I know that your journey has been marked by suffering, by a pain that only those who have lived it can fully understand. But we have risen together and found the strength to move forward.
Thank you, mom, for the courage to rediscover yourself and for the love that now binds us even more.
