He is not here! He has risen.

In the first light after the Sabbath, when pain was still stronger than hope and the silence of the tomb seemed final, what man could never have imagined happened: a voice breaks the darkness of history: “He is not here. He has risen!”.

The Monday of the Angel is not just a simple extension of the Easter celebration; it is the day of revelation that profoundly challenges the mind and the heart. The Angel does not perform a consoling gesture, but announces a fact that changes the very structure of reality: death has been conquered. Not symbolically, not internally, but truly.

That empty tomb is not absence, it is new presence. It is the sign that God has entered history to its utmost consequences and has overcome them. Where man sees an end, God inaugurates a beginning. The women arrive bringing spices, that is, gestures intended for death; they return carrying a word destined for life. In this transition lies the entire dynamic of the Christian faith: from the evidence of limitation to trust in the impossible of God.

Today the Angel continues to speak, no longer visible to the eyes, but present in the truth of the Gospel and in the conscience of those who listen. And his word remains demanding: “Why do you seek the living among the dead?”. It is a question that runs through our lives. How many times do we seek life where there is only weariness, truth where there is compromise, hope where there is resignation.

The Resurrection is not a comforting idea, but an event that forces a choice. If Christ has risen, then nothing can be lived as before: neither pain, nor sin, nor death itself. Everything is permeated by a new possibility. The stone rolled away is not just that of the tomb, but every closure of man: the fear that paralyzes, the pride that divides, the distrust that extinguishes. All of this is definitively overcome today.

The Monday of the Angel is then the day of mission. The Angel does not keep the women in sterile contemplation, but sends them: go, tell, testify.

It is the vocation of the Christian, of the one who believes in the Resurrection: to make a life present. Not to defend a past, but to embody a reality that operates now. Christ is risen: not as a concept, but as a living presence in history; not as private consolation, but as universal truth.

For this reason, those who believe cannot remain still. They must become a sign: in justice, when it is easier to remain silent; in charity, when it is simpler to close oneself off; in truth, when everything pushes towards compromise.

The tomb is empty, the story is open. Man is no longer condemned to the night. Man can finally rise and walk in the light.

Because since that morning, nothing is the same as before. And nothing will ever be the same again.
