“Chinese women participating in our project are powerful and influential entrepreneurs. I have asked them to buy products from Italian women and young people. It’s about creating a global economic sisterhood first and foremost.”
With this spirit, Moreni aims to be the voice and representative of a new paradigm: not only promoting Made in Italy, but doing so in an inclusive, ethical, and strategic way.
“We no longer have the same access to the American market. China is now the best alternative, if approached with awareness and structure. It can be a turning point market for many companies.”
Maria Moreni, with her concrete and passionate vision, shows that the union between economic diplomacy and empowerment can truly open new paths – on the New Silk Road and beyond.
“The market is much harder for women: they are often alone, have family responsibilities, and are not aware of their rights or the financing opportunities available for exporting. We want to bridge this gap,” she says.
A strategic ally in this project is the Chinese Women Association Entrepreneurs, an association linked to the Chinese Presidency Council, which represents the CEOs and presidents of the main Chinese multinational companies. Thanks to this network, young Italian female businesses will be able to count on strong and motivated buyers.

“One of the main problems is ensuring Chinese distributors that the products are authentic and not fake. This is why we work with consortiums, which certify the quality and origin of the participating companies,” explains Moreni.
However, what makes the program even more relevant is its social component: the concrete commitment to give space to women and young entrepreneurs. Moreni, proudly, claims the need to support these categories often penalized in internationalization paths.

During his official visit to Vinitaly, Moreni emphasized the importance of the “MeGusto – Crafts of Taste on the Silk Road” platform, a program created to facilitate the sale of Italian products – especially wine, food, and territorial marketing – to China. The initiative is aimed primarily at consortia, a guarantee of authenticity for Chinese buyers, avoiding the risk of counterfeit products.
