Montelupone, the village that becomes the capital of mystery

1 Mins read

From October 31 to November 2 returns the Halloween Mystery Fest: four shows between history and legend for adults and children

MONTELUPONE (MC) – Spiders, pumpkins, witches, and ghosts, but also ancient legends, duels, and stories rooted in history. Montelupone, a suggestive medieval village in the province of Macerata, is preparing to transform into the Italian capital of mystery with the third edition of the Halloween Mystery Fest, scheduled from October 31 to November 2, 2025.

After the success of previous editions, which attracted over 5,000 visitors from all over Italy, the festival returns with a program full of immersive experiences: itinerant shows among alleys and medieval walls and theatrical performances that mix history, folklore, and chills.

Four shows for a journey through time
The Dark True Story of the Village: an “extra-large” mystery tour among ghosts, witches, and hidden secrets, with a breathtaking finale in the 18th-century caves.
A Rift in Time: an itinerant show that weaves local history with events and distant kingdoms, guided by actors in costume.
The Secrets of the Abbey: at the Montelupone Theater, a theatrical journey through three thousand years of events, among pagans, clergy, and nobles in conflict.
Fantastic Marchigian Creatures… and Where to Find Them: a show dedicated to children and families, among eccentric professors and popular legends.

The shows are recommended for ages 6 and up (5 for the one dedicated to the little ones) and require paid tickets, while entrance to the village and side activities remain free.

A village that lives on stories
The event was born from an idea by Leonardo Bedini, actor and storyteller from Montelupone, who transformed his passion for local myths and legends into the famous Mystery Tours. With the association Stories and Legends, the Pro Loco, and the patronage of the Municipality, Bedini created a festival that combines show, culture, and entertainment.

Besides the shows, the program includes a Kids Zone with games and inflatables, a food corner, and a themed drinks corner, featuring craft beers and “spooky” cocktails.

Three days, from 3 pm to 1 am, to experience a different Halloween: not just a commercial party, but an occasion to rediscover the bond between memory, folklore, and community.
