The Linacre College Oxford Italian Society is organizing a culturally significant event in the beautiful setting of the Schola Grande di San Teodoro in Venice, on Saturday, April 5, 2025

Event Schedule
The event will start at 10.30 with the welcome and registration of participants, followed by two high-level academic interventions exploring fascinating and multidisciplinary topics.
At 11.00, Laura Massetti, former Carlsberg Visiting Fellow at Linacre College (2020-2023) and lecturer at the University of Naples L’Orientale, will give a conference entitled:
“Ancient hymns like poetic sonatas: an interdisciplinary investigation”.
Massetti’s intervention will offer an innovative perspective on the analysis of ancient hymns, highlighting their poetic and musical value through an interdisciplinary approach.
At 11.30, it will be the turn of Leonardo Bonetti, Research Fellow at Linacre College, Oxford, and Associate Professor at the University of Aarhus. His presentation, entitled:
“Exploring the brain through music: a unique perspective on neuroscience”,
It will deepen the link between music and neuroscience, showing how musical harmonies can influence and reveal the functioning of the human mind.
