On the occasion of the National Day of Made in Italy (April 15), the National Coordination of Teachers in the field of Human Rights emphasizes the strategic importance of the Made in Italy High School, recently established, as a driver of cultural, economic, and identity growth in our country.
ITALY. The Made in Italy not only represents a globally recognized economic excellence, but also a heritage of values, skills, creativity, and knowledge rooted in history, art, manufacturing tradition, and respect for human rights and labor.
The Made in Italy continues to represent a fundamental pillar of the Italian economy, with exports exceeding 550 billion euros in 2024, recording an 8% increase compared to the previous year. Forecasts indicate that by 2025 exports could reach 679 billion euros, driven by key sectors such as agri-food, fashion, and technology.
The main sectors of Made in Italy include fashion (30%), food (20%), furniture (15%), automotive (10%), and technology and innovation (25%). In particular, Italian agri-food exports to the United States have seen significant growth, with increases in sales of olive oil (+67%), pasta (+193%), and wine (+63%).
Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and craftsmanship make up 75% of the entities identified with the Made in Italy brand, highlighting the importance of these players in the national economic landscape. However, only 35% of medium and large Italian companies actively use the Made in Italy brand in foreign markets, indicating a still untapped potential.
An important aspect concerns business ownership: one third of the turnover of Italian companies is controlled by foreign entities, with a significant presence in high-tech sectors. Foreign-controlled companies generate 61% of their turnover from high-tech activities, surpassing the 46.7% of Italian-owned companies.
The Made in Italy High School, through an integrated educational offer that enhances business culture, law, work ethics, and active citizenship, aims to be an educational laboratory capable of combining knowledge and know-how, innovation and tradition.
At a time when it is essential to provide young people with concrete tools to face global challenges with awareness, this high school path becomes a precious opportunity to train responsible, creative citizens ready to contribute to the sustainable development of the country.
The CNDDU also emphasizes the importance of further integrating the study of Civil Rights into the education of the “Made in Italy” High School, to ensure that the promotion of our productive heritage is always accompanied by a strong sense of ethical responsibility, inclusion, and legality.
We therefore invite schools, families, and the business world to actively support and promote this path, which represents a new frontier of Italian education, capable of building bridges between school, society, and the world of work.
The CNDDU announces the initiative “Made in Italy: The Heart of Our Culture” which will take place in the afternoon of April 15th at the Liceo Raffaele Satriani, Mesoraca section, in the province of Crotone, with the students of class I sez. F – Made in Italy address; on this occasion, the students will present some entrepreneurial ideas inspired by the territorial possibilities and resources in the presence of distinguished guests and representatives of institutions. A special commendation to the very young “entrepreneurs” and designers who have enthusiastically imagined a dynamic and bright future for their land.
Enhancing the Made in Italy means investing in the future of our young people and in the future of Italy. Invite the schools where this program has been activated to send the initiatives carried out to the CNDDU email.
