Not everything that is true is good.

It is not always good what is true; in fact, when we seek or speak the truth, it is neither convenient nor useful. In doubt, we prefer to rely on chance, and then we remain surprised or disappointed, still convinced. An opportunity is lost because we are scared or distracted. It is better to always say yes than to deny ourselves. This way, we are sure not to make mistakes. And indeed, we do not make mistakes because we avoid creating enemies. It is better not to notice these than to feel their breath on us. Making mistakes is preferable to caution because we always learn something from mistakes.

At least we appreciate our innocent imperfection. If we have to cheer for someone or something, let’s cheer for ourselves! Inventing, with storytelling, is an art. This helps us play our part, even if we don’t know what game we are playing when we deceive others and ourselves. Like the child who is so convinced of his lie that he believes it himself. The truth for the lie is preferable to absolute truth.
