A comparison among experts, institutions, and civil society on how to implement the European Law on the restoration of nature and promote a circular economy through the deposit return system
ROME – On Monday, November 17, at 5:00 PM, at the CeoForLife Club House in Rome, the third appointment of ASviS Live will take place, an initiative promoted by the Italian Alliance for Sustainable Development (ASviS) to delve into the themes of the ASviS Report 2025. The meeting, titled “Biodiversity at Work: Implementing the EU Law on Nature Restoration and the Deposit Guarantee Scheme (Drs)”, will focus on environmental policies and the Alliance’s proposals for the country’s sustainability.
At the center of the debate is the Nature Restoration Law, recently adopted by the European Union, which introduces the obligation for member states to develop national environmental restoration plans. The meeting will provide an opportunity to reflect on how to translate European targets into concrete actions for the regeneration of ecosystems, cities, waters, and soils, with the aim of creating new jobs and protecting biodiversity.
Among the key themes is the ASviS proposal to introduce a deposit system for beverage containers, an effective tool to reduce waste and increase recycling rates along the production chains.
The event will take place concurrently with the COP 30 in Belém, highlighting the importance of a coherent dialogue between national policies and global climate commitments.
The program includes the introduction and moderation by Enrico Giovannini, Scientific Director of ASviS. Joining from Belém will be Andrea Grieco, head of Communication and Advocacy projects at ASviS.
The following interventions will be:
- Eleonora Evi, member of the Democratic Party
- Enzo Favoino, Campaign To be returned
- Massimo Milani*, deputy of Brothers of Italy
- Alessandra Prampolini, General Director WWF Italy
- Edoardo Zanchini, City of Rome
*Awaiting confirmation.
The last appointment with ASviS Live, dedicated to economic topics, will be held on Monday, November 24 at 5:00 PM.
