I started traveling with souls in 1990 right after my graduation in psychology.
Since then I have encountered many faces, many troubles. I have learned to guard the mysterious forces that inhabit us, not to comment and not to judge. I remember a young woman of 38 years old who was telling about her betrayal towards her husband with a “despicable” man, who was following her and threatening to reveal everything to her husband. In order to get rid of him, she even decided to change jobs.
I think it’s easy to give judgments when you’re not involved, but when you’re experiencing love, every comment is useless. Lovers see the world differently, and when Venus takes over, reason disappears. That’s why the lady decided to turn to me to understand what to do. She didn’t see that her problem had arisen because she was trying to suffocate a part of herself. She was trying to change her life because she no longer wanted to be the woman who betrays; she didn’t realize she was implementing a mechanism of deep self-destructive self-aggression.
During the therapeutic journey, panic attacks appeared. She was scared, as if the ground was missing under her feet. And she thought she was feeling bad because she had betrayed, she had risked destroying her family. Those who often betray either feel guilty, or give themselves justifications (a neglectful husband, feeling dull, unhappy, etc.) The game of the soul is another. What caused panic attacks? Perhaps the fact that the soul detests our decisions on emotional affairs? Or perhaps it detests even more the suppression of the images that concern us.
The woman who betrays has the same right to exist as the mother and the wife. Panic does not come from betrayal but simply because one tries to suffocate the feminine, passionate, erotic part. The therapy was aimed at bringing to light the passionate woman. Like all images of the soul, she needed to be welcomed.
That’s how I made her imagine Isis, the archetype of the maternal feminine but also of the most intense eroticism. Finding those images made the discomfort vanish.
If we give up a side of ourselves it’s like dying. Finding it again is like coming home. Making contact with our inner archetypes, with our Venus, doesn’t mean betraying to fulfill ourselves but it means knowing that without the fire of eros we annihilate our vital essence.
A quiet life is not good for those who want to delve into the depths of the unconscious. For each of us comes a moment when we must make contact with the mysterious forces that inhabit us, among these Eros is the most important, perhaps it leads us to make mistakes.
However, if we take care of it, it behaves like a compass that leads us on the right course. The path of the front door to the soul.
