With “Vega in Pink”: Affordable Breast Check-Ups, Support for LILT, and a Powerful Message — Early Diagnosis Can Save Lives
MOGLIANO VENETO (TV) – Prevention is not an abstract concept, but a daily act that can change the fate of thousands of women. This is the core message of “Vega in Pink”, the campaign launched by the Vega Group in collaboration with the Giovanni XXIII Hospital of Monastier on the occasion of Pink October 2025, the month dedicated to the fight against breast cancer.
Throughout October, in the group’s 240 commercial locations (across Veneto, Friuli Venezia Giulia, and Trentino Alto Adige), customers will find informational materials and the opportunity to book a full breast health check-up – including mammogram, ultrasound, and medical consultation – at a reduced rate. Booking is simple: just scan the QR code available in stores, visit the website www.gvmnet.it, or call 0422 896710.
PREVENTION AS A VERB TO BE PRACTICED
“We want to bring as many people as possible to this verb: prevention,” the campaign’s promoters emphasized. The numbers are clear: 1 in 8 women is at risk of developing breast cancer in her lifetime. It is the leading cause of cancer-related death among women, but early diagnosis radically changes the outlook. If detected in its early stages, the chances of recovery exceed 90%.
The Giovanni XXIII Hospital, through its Breast Unit, provides access to state-of-the-art technologies: 3D tomosynthesis mammography, high-frequency ultrasound, and AI-powered MRIs. These tools, combined with the expertise of the medical staff, allow the disease to be detected early and treated successfully.
WOMEN AT THE CENTER, STRONGER FAMILIES
The campaign speaks directly to women, who are often the first to care for their families but risk neglecting themselves.
“Taking care of yourself is not selfish it is a vital necessity that brings well-being to the entire family unit,” said Matteo Geretto, Head of Communications at the hospital.
This message is echoed by LILT Treviso, which supports the initiative with its motto: “Prevention is life.” For every check-up booked, €5 will be donated to the provincial branch of LILT, which has been promoting healthy lifestyles and supporting cancer patients for decades.
LIFESTYLES AND AWARENESS
Alongside early diagnosis, the campaign emphasizes the importance of primary prevention: not smoking, following a balanced diet, and engaging in regular physical activity. These habits, doctors remind us, can reduce the risk of developing cancer by up to 40%.
Dr. Maurizia Marzolini, gynecologist and LILT board member, highlighted how the age of onset for breast cancer is gradually decreasing, making it even more urgent to raise awareness among younger generations. For this reason, informational materials and flyers will also be distributed in schools, using language tailored to both male and female students.
SHOPPING AS A HEALTH OPPORTUNITY
Thanks to the group’s network of stores (including Maxi, Eurospesa, and Il Tulipano), the message of prevention will reach thousands of women, transforming a daily activity like shopping into an opportunity to remember that health comes first.
A small reminder that can make a big difference: because when prevention becomes a habit, it is the greatest form of care
