Green connection activated between Rosolina and Porto Viro along the Adriatic cycle path
Venice – The Regional Councillor for Mobility and Transport, Diego Ruzza, has announced that the intermodal connection between Porto Viro and Rosolina is operational, the boat passage that connects the two banks of the Po Delta, in the heart of the Polesine, and along one of the main cycling tourism routes in the North, the Adriatic Cycle Path.

In making this announcement, Diego Ruzza added: “This is a green initiative, coordinated by the Province of Rovigo, for the transport of people and bicycles by water, capable of integrating river navigation and cycling mobility into a slow, authentic, and environmentally respectful travel experience, in line with regional objectives for the development of sustainable mobility and slow tourism.”

“Since its activation, the connection has seen a steadily growing demand – Ruzza emphasizes – with the number of passengers transported rising from 2,079 in 2023 to 2,624 in 2024, and reaching 3,103 in 2025: a positive trend that confirms its strategic value and increasing attractiveness for residents and tourists from Italy and Europe.
To support the service, which sees the co-participation of the municipalities of Porto Viro, with 5 thousand euros, and Rosolina, with 5 thousand euros, the Region has allocated funding of 40 thousand euros for 2026, reaffirming its commitment to alternative mobility and the enhancement of the Po Delta.”

“The integration between river transport and cycling tourism – the councillor concludes – not only represents an alternative mobility solution but also a model of sustainable tourism, capable of enhancing the environmental and landscape heritage of the Po Delta and strengthening the attractiveness of Polesine while simultaneously promoting the interconnection between waterways, cycle paths, and local public transport.”
