From October 16 to December 31, the largest solidarity campaign in the restaurant sector returns: special dishes and menus to support Action Against Hunger’s projects in Italy and worldwide
MILAN – Eleven years of commitment, thousands of restaurants involved, and nearly one million euros raised: “Restaurants Against Hunger” is back this year as well, from October 16 to December 31, turning the passion for food into a concrete act of solidarity.
The initiative, promoted by Action Against Hunger, kicks off on World Food Day and involves chefs, restaurateurs, and food lovers throughout Italy. In participating venues, it will be possible to choose a solidarity dish or menu, attend special dinners, or toast with the solidarity bubbles of Ferrari Trento, thus contributing to the humanitarian organization’s projects.
Among the chains that have confirmed their participation are Pokéria by NIMA, MACHA CAFÉ, Wiener Haus, and Pizzium, while longtime partners such as Ferrari Trento, Surgiva, METRO Italy, Michelin Italiana, and TheForkrenew their support. Media partners for the initiative include Radio Deejay, Radio Capital, Linkiesta Gastronomika,and Reporter Gourmet.
The calendar of Super Solidarity Dinners will travel across Italy with events from Turin to Como, from Verona to Milan, involving starred chefs and Ambassadors of Taste. Among the protagonists is also the new ambassador, Anna Zhang, winner of MasterChef Italy Season 14.
A new feature for 2025 is the format “RESTA Against Hunger – Self-Service by Renowned Chefs”, which will debut in November in Milan at the cafeteria of the Università Cattolica: an accessible and informal Sunday solidarity lunch made with food surpluses donated by the large-scale distribution sector.
In ten years, the campaign has supported projects in Italy — such as “No More Hunger: from Emergency to Autonomy” in Milan and Naples — and in countries affected by food crises, from the Sahel to Lebanon, and the Central African Republic. In 2025, the funds raised will be allocated to interventions in Myanmar, the Middle East, India, Kenya, Nepal, and Italy, with the project extending also to Bari.
“Today, 673 million people worldwide live in conditions of food insecurity,” recalls Simone Garroni, Director of Action Against Hunger. “With this campaign, even a dinner can become a gesture of change, capable of restoring dignity and a future to those without access to food.”
