At the Teatrino in via Pasini, the fourth edition of the Ritmi del Sud festival, featuring workshops and performances of folk dances and rhythms. It starts on Saturday the 21st with Douce France
MARGHERA – A journey that starts from afar. From the idea of Ilaria Specchia to create a space for in-depth exploration and knowledge of the cultural and musical traditions of Southern Italy, where she was born. And so the AttoGentile association brings to the Teatrino di via Pasini the warmth of traditions through the event “RHYTHMS OF THE SOUTH“: workshops and performances of dances and the popular rhythms of Southern Italy’s tradition, and more.
“I have always imagined this review as an ‘opportunity for meeting: between artists and the audience, dancers and musicians, people with different experiences and cultures who dialogue and recognize themselves in a common root.” – Ilaria Specchia, psychotherapist and creator of the project, recounts.
An event that has grown over the years, involving numerous artists and experts in popular traditions, spanning regions such as Campania, Salento, Calabria, Greece, and the South of Spain.
The right mix of insights, seminars, workshops, dance parties, and highly attended shows, so much so that “RITMI DEL SUD” has become a true annual event of sharing and celebration that is set to take the stage at the Teatrino di via Pasini for the fourth consecutive year.
It starts with France
This year’s review will start on Saturday, March 21 at 6:30 PM with French sounds featuring the concert Douce France – France in music, from jazz to chanson. The performers will be Giovanna Castellaro on vocals, Martino Salvo and Paolo Mason on manouche guitar, and Luca Pisani on double bass.
It will continue on Saturday, March 28th from 4 PM with the intensity of Andalusian dance featuring a workshop and two performances of Tablao Flamenco. The closing will be on April 17th in our local Puglia with a drum workshop and the traditional pizzica dance.
