Spresiano (TV) – Well organized and fierce, the criminals target the elderly and the more vulnerable, as well as people who fall into increasingly sophisticated traps.
Phantom technicians asking to enter homes to fix malfunctions, or phone calls made by fake lawyers or law enforcement officers demanding money to resolve obviously non-existent situations. More and more often, the elderly are targeted by these criminals.
Tips to Avoid Being Scammed
For this reason, the Municipality of Spresiano, active in ensuring the safety of its citizens, especially vulnerable individuals, has promoted the initiative “Scams Against the Elderly: Tips to Avoid Being Deceived”.
This is an open meeting for citizens on public safety, organized by the Municipality of Spresiano in collaboration with the Treviso Carabinieri Company Command and the Spresiano Carabinieri Station Command. The aim is to inform and raise awareness among citizens, providing useful tools to recognize and counteract fraud attempts.
It is important to support our elderly and help them defend themselves against these unscrupulous people – says Marco Della Pietra, Mayor of Spresiano and candidate for the regional elections for Fdi – scammers who take away from the victims not only their money but also the memories of a lifetime.
