VENICE. The daily newspaper Il Foglio returns to Venice for the seventh edition of the Innovation Festival. A day of meetings and debates to focus on the most important themes of technological development and its cultural impact on our lives. Venice is an ancient city, but it knows the word innovation very well, as also highlighted by its mayor Luigi Brugnaro, in the closing interview of the morning session.

For example, mention was made of the Mose and the hydrogen plant: “Venice is ancient but it is a city of modernity. We are building a production plant to power 90 hydrogen buses for local public transport; with great determination we have started the Mose, and it is working,” said the mayor, who then continued: “I do a very demanding job because Venice is a complicated city, it is an island and it is mainland, it is a place where the times of the citizens must be reconciled with those of the tourists who come to learn about a millenary history. And I have the precise task of preserving and protecting it, for the entire country, as well as for the Venetians,” on whom Brugnaro focused: “Yesterday I was in Pellestrina, among the people, talking and discussing. This is also the beauty of the job, being among the citizens, discussing, living democracy.” On the possibility of a third term, the mayor stated that, as far as he is concerned, two terms may be enough, but he will not abandon politics: “I have always done it and I will continue to do it, I will continue to take care of the “public thing” and I will always be available for my country,” he concluded.
