On December 17th in Treviso A Midsummer Night’s Dream in the choreography of Davide Bombana for COB
TREVISO – The immortal A Midsummer Night’s Dream by Shakespeare arrives at the Teatro Del Monaco on December 17, transformed into a ballet by the Compagnia Opus Ballet (COB) with choreography by Davide Bombana.
The show blends classical music, dramaturgy, and contemporary dance, creating a language that speaks directly to the audience. Bombana stated that he drew inspiration from the themes of the irrational and the absurd present in Shakespeare’s text, giving rise to an atmosphere that is almost Beckettian, between reality and hallucination, where romantic entanglements and mythological conflicts intertwine in a lively and unpredictable stage play.
On stage will perform Giuliana Bonaffini, Emiliano Candiago, Matheus De Oliveira Alves, Ginevra Gioli, Giulia Orlando, Riccardo Papa, Niccolò Poggini, Sara Schiavo, Frederic Zoungla, and Rebeca Zucchegni, directed by Bombana to the music of Felix Mendelssohn and Jóhann Jóhannsson (musical editing by Silvio Brambilla). The light design is by Carlo Cerri, the costumes by Ermanno Scervino, the scenic elements by Margherita Citran, with technical direction by Laura De Bernardis.
The COB production, directed by Rosanna Brocanello, is part of the program created in collaboration with Arteven – Regional Theatre Circuit, which will also bring to the audience La Duse by Adriano Bolognino (April 1, 2026) and De la rue aux jeux by Pockemon Crew (April 23).
