After the bronzes of Baretta and Iurlaro and the incredible silver of the sixteen-year-old Touiar, the 2026 European Taekwondo Championships sees the fourth consecutive medal in four days of competition. Another splendid silver is won by Gaetano Cirivello in the -54 kg category.

Great performance by Gaetano Cirivello, starting from the round of 16 against the Cypriot Andreas Spyrou, who was decisively defeated 2-0 (15-6 / 16-1). In the quarter-finals, it was the turn of the Greek Rafail Nitsas Christos, beaten 2-0 (25-12 / 18-2). The quarter-finals were more closely contested, with the Georgian Vitali Geladze, defeated 2-1.
The penultimate act saw the blue player win 2-0 (14-0 / 17-13) against the Bulgarian Hristiyan Georgiev. In the final, the blue player faced the Spanish Jairo Agenjo Trigos, who won decisively 2-0 (7-19 / 7-14).
