The Auditorium Fondazione Cassamarca in Treviso will host a free concert on Saturday, April 12 at 6 pm featuring the young talents of the “A. Pedrollo” Music Conservatory in Vicenza. The event, titled “The Face of Euterpe: Sonic Gazes in the 20th Century,” will offer an immersion into 20th-century music.
Treviso. The students of the Orchestra Conducting class, under the direction of Maestro Giancarlo Andretta, will take turns on the podium to conduct the Chamber Orchestra of the Conservatory. The program includes pieces by Stravinsky, Berio, Mahler, and De Falla. Mezzo-soprano Lucía Mariel Fernández will join the orchestra for the performance of Berio’s Folk Songs and De Falla’s El amor brujo.
The concert will open with Igor Stravinsky’s Octet for Wind Instruments, conducted by Alberto Pelosin, founder and artistic director of the Kairos Vox choir and director of the ensemble L’Arte de’ Sonadori. This will be followed by Luciano Berio’s Folk Songs, conducted by Riccardo Lucadello, a composer and orchestra conductor born in 1997. The Adagietto from Gustav Mahler’s Fifth Symphony will then be performed by Leonardo Grimaz, a cellist and composer born in 2004. Lastly, Matteo Perlin, a pianist and orchestra conductor, will conduct Manuel De Falla’s El amor brujo.
This event represents a unique opportunity to appreciate the talent of these young musicians and to discover or rediscover some of the masterpieces of the 20th century. Free admission will allow a wide audience to enjoy a high-level musical experience.
The orchestra conductors:
Alberto Pelosin: Choir director and orchestra conducting student, with a rich curriculum of experiences, including conducting the Union Europe Orchestra and collaborating with the Filarmonici Friulani Youth Orchestra.
Riccardo Lucadello: Composer and orchestra conductor who has worked with orchestras such as the Orchestra of the Teatro Olimpico in Vicenza, the Symphony Orchestra of the A. Steffani Conservatory, and the Wiener Kaiserwalzer Orchester.
Leonardo Grimaz: Cellist and composer who has performed with the Filarmonici Friulani Youth Orchestra, the National Orchestra of Italian Conservatories, and the orchestra of the Accademia del Teatro alla Scala.
Matteo Perlin: Pianist and orchestra conductor who has performed at numerous festivals and won awards in national and international competitions.
The soloist:
Lucía Mariel Fernández: Argentine mezzo-soprano who has performed in operas such as Gluck’s Orfeo ed Euridice and has collaborated with important conductors like N. Petrenko and A. Van der Spoel.
