International “Angels Awards” for emergency management and care: Ca’ Foncello wins the Diamond, Conegliano the Gold, and SUEM shines in the EMS network

TREVISO – The Ulss 2 Marca Trevigiana confirms its role as a reference point at the European level in stroke management. Three important “Angels Awards” have been assigned to the hospitals of Treviso and Conegliano, as well as to the 118 Emergency Medical Service for their activities in the first months of 2025. These awards are promoted by the European Stroke Organisation (ESO) and the Angels network, which evaluate the best standards for stroke diagnosis and treatment.

The Ca’ Foncello Hospital in Treviso has received the highest recognition, the Diamond Award, for the fourth time, thanks to the work of the Stroke Unit led by Dr. Simone Tonello. The Conegliano hospital has won the Gold Award, confirming the efficiency of its integrated pathway, also through the use of telemedicine. The SUEM 118 in Treviso has received the Diamond EMS-Awards for the second consecutive semester, for the quality of pre-hospital care, crucial in reducing the access times to treatment.

“These are prestigious awards,” stated the general director Francesco Benazzi, “that recognize the teamwork, continuous training of the staff, and synergy between hospitals, emergency services, and the community. The challenge now is to improve even further, including in the management of hemorrhagic strokes and in raising awareness among the population about the early signs of the disease.”
