Venetian villa festival organized by FAI Giovani Treviso
MOGLIANO VENETO – On Sunday, May 12th, in Mogliano Veneto, many visitors starting from 10 in the morning had the pleasure to visit Villa Torni, a complex that has characterized the life of the city.
The Fondo Ambiente Italiano (FAI) Youth Group of Treviso organized the event and conducted the tours in the beautiful setting of the park, in the frescoed rooms of the villa, and in the religious building that completes the architectural complex. The guides explained to the visitors the peculiarities of the complex, which was transformed at the end of the 19th century into the first Italian pellagra hospital by the will of Mayor Costante Gris.
During the visit to Villa Torni, we had the pleasure of interviewing architect Anna Collatuzzo, head of the FAI Youth Group in Treviso, who explained to us the motivations and objectives of their commitment to the beauties of the territory. We also thank architect Francesco Barisan for his willingness to shoot the video and Luca for providing the narration during the visit to the chapel of the complex, which is normally closed to the public.
The young members of FAI share the association’s mission to enhance Italian and Veneto heritage. “FAI a tour in the villa” is a tour that will take place in the months of May and June, leading to the discovery of villas and gardens in different areas of the region, with a particular focus on the values of biodiversity (campaign #FAIBiodiversity).
The funds collected will be used for the restoration of the mountain dairy and pastures of Monte Fontana Secca, owned by FAI – Italian Environmental Fund in Quero Vas (BL).
