Venice – The appointments of “The Days of Ideas” continue, the preview meetings for the VIII edition of the “Festival of Ideas”, six events until May 19.
The next guests will be Vittorino Andreoli on April 9 at the Toniolo Theatre in Mestre, and Aldo Grasso on April 10 at The Human Safety Net House at the Procuratie in Venice.
Mestre – On April 9 at 8:30 PM, the Toniolo Theatre hosts Vittorino Andreoli with “Being and Thought”. The renowned psychiatrist reflects on the relationship between inner life and action through the legacy of seven great masters of Western culture: Jesus, Socrates, Thomas More, Galileo, Kant, Darwin, and Freud.
The meeting especially invites young people to rediscover the value of thought as a guide for their choices and to question what drives life: the desire that moves us or the duty towards ourselves and the world, recalling the theme of the Festival.
Venice – On April 10th at 6 PM, at The Human Safety Net House at the Procuratie, Aldo Grasso “gives in” for the first time to the temptation of reflecting on his work as a television critic, or rather, “stateless, outcast, unrecognized intruder by other critics and unloved by those directly involved,” as he ironically defines himself.
Grasso tells the story of Italian television yesterday and today, an everlasting mirror of vices and virtues, desires, passions, and disenchantments of an entire country through his latest book “Dear Television. A Love Story and Other Feelings”, amidst resistances, changes, and new challenges.

On April 23 at 9 PM at the Teatro Toniolo, the festival Federico Buffa returns with the show “Otto infinito. Life and death of a Mamba”, dedicated to the basketball legend Kobe Bryant. With his unmistakable storytelling ability, Buffa retraces the life of the NBA champion through anecdotes and reflections on his obsession with improvement and the constant pursuit of knowledge. Accompanied by live music from Alessandro Nidi (piano), Sebastiano Nidi (percussions), and Filippo Nidi (trombone), the show becomes a tale of perseverance, failure, and the desire to overcome one’s limits.
On May 19 at 9 PM, also at the Teatro Toniolo, the program of “Le Giornate delle Idee” concludes with Andrea Vanzo and “Intimacy Vol. 2 – Concert”. A pianist and composer among the most appreciated in the international modern classical scene, Vanzo offers an intimate and immersive musical experience. His compositions, delicate and evocative, weave silences and emotions, creating a soundscape capable of conversing with the soul, transforming the concert into an inner journey.
