LONDON – The 2026 edition of the Guinness Women’s Six Nations was officially launched at the Guinness Open Gate Brewery in London. The six head coaches of the participating national teams were present, along with a representation of the athletes. For Italy, with Head Coach Fabio Roselli, there was Silvia Turani, prop for the Harlequins and a long-time resident of the UK capital.
This edition of the Six Nations for Italy will start on April 11 at the Stade des Alpes in Grenoble, against France. Following that, there will be matches in Galway against Ireland, the first home game at Lanfranchi in Parma against Scotland, then facing the World Champions England at home, and finally, the match against Wales at the Arms Park in Cardiff.
A special guest for the International Launch of the Guinness Women’s Six Nations was Elena Linari, captain of the Italian National Football Team, and current player for the London City Lionesses. A great rugby enthusiast, thanks to the passion inherited from her father, a former rugby player.
An opportunity to create connections between different disciplines, also building on the partnership established this year between the Six Nations and Togethxr, a media company founded by four elite American athletes: former soccer player Alex Morgan, snowboarder Chloe Kim, swimmer Simone Manuel, and basketball player Sue Bird, which aims to develop narratives and content that celebrate women’s sports and contribute to the global growth of movements.
The statements
For coach Roselli, this will be his second Six Nations on the bench of Italy. In this edition, we will see a very renewed team with the goal already aimed at the Rugby World Cup 2029.
These are his words:
“It has been nice to meet here on the eve of a Six Nations that will be interesting from many points of view. We have a squad that balances experience and youth, and we are ready to resume our preparation standards for international matches starting from the gathering that will begin for us on Tuesday evening. We are starting with an important challenge in Grenoble against France, in a tournament that has often proven to be unpredictable and open to many scenarios. We want to continue developing our identity and evolving our playing model.”
Silvia Turani also commented: “We are happy to start another edition of the Six Nations. The beauty of this tournament is that over time it has become a tradition: we know that every year it is with us and that we want to face it at our best. We can’t wait to see each other again on Tuesday for the gathering to get straight to work towards the first challenge with France.”
