The Historic Center and the Benedictine Abbey, interview with the Mayor of Mogliano Davide Bortolato

In September 2024, during a public meeting, the ambitious project to redevelop the historic center was presented to the citizens, from the corner with Terraglio up to the church and abbey of Santa Maria Assunta. The intervention is made possible thanks to significant funding obtained as part of the PNRR (National Recovery and Resilience Plan).

MOGLIANO VENETO (TV). The ancient Napoleonic road, which tells us many pages of history, thus merges with the regeneration project of the most iconic place, the ancient Benedictine abbey, which represents the birth of the community, to the point of being also depicted in the municipal coat of arms.

In recent months, work has been carried out to renovate and enhance some areas of the historic center, aiming to give back to the community a renewed, functional, and, above all, barrier-free public space. Additionally, the square will be closed to traffic, leading to clear improvements in quality of life in social, economic, and environmental spheres.

Regenerating allows the people of Mogliano and beyond to reclaim and relive spaces in a new dimension of community.
