A well-known Australian company includes the event in its national wine report. Razzolini: “A sign that our region knows how to speak to the world.”
VALDOBBIADENE (TV, ITALY) – The Palio delle Contrade di Valdobbiadene symbolically arrives in Australia. The famous barrel race, a summer event that attracts hundreds of people to Piazza Marconi every year, has been highlighted by a well-known Australian company as a case study in a report on wine tourism and the promotion of the region.
This was announced by Tommaso Razzolini, president of the Palio, who enthusiastically recounts the genesis of the initiative: “An employee of a major wine company near Canberra, who came to Valdobbiadene to learn more about the Italian wine system, was struck by the originality and unifying power of our Palio. She wanted to include it among the best practices to be featured in the report commissioned by the Australian Wine Industry.”
For Razzolini, this confirms the value and resonance of the event: “It shows that an event created with passion, rooted in the territory but open to the world, can also attract international interest. It is a recognition that rewards not only the work of the organizing committee, but also the link between tradition, cultural promotion, and tourism development.”
The event, inspired by the Palio delle Botti delle Città del Vino, is a perfect example of the integration of local identity, entertainment, and territorial marketing. “Valdobbiadene,” adds Razzolini, “is increasingly noted for its lively cultural offerings, as well as for the quality of its wine production. Our Palio thus becomes an ambassador for a virtuous model to be shared abroad.”
According to the president, this result reinforces the city’s international vocation and the importance of continuing to invest in events capable of creating community and attractiveness.
