The Sirens Enchant Y-40 for a Magical Underwater Christmas

2 Mins read

The Christmas holidays are filled with magic and wonder in the depths of Y-40 The DeepJoy, the deepest thermal pool in the world. A unique show awaits visitors and enthusiasts, featuring mermaids, divers, and a breathtaking Christmas setting.

MONTEGROTTO TERME. Y-40 The DeepJoy is preparing to welcome Christmas with a special event that has already been successful in past years: “The Mermaids Return to Dance in Y-40 for Christmas.” On the days of Sunday, December 21, December 28, and January 4, the deepest thermal pool in the world will open its doors to offer an unforgettable underwater show.

“Our Christmas gift to all tourists and visitors of the Euganean Thermal Baths: free entry to Y-40 to watch the Mermaid Show. Four mermaids and a group of divers and freedivers will make our miraculous thermal waters even more magical with choreographies set to music, lots of bubbles, and a typical Christmas setting, with a sleigh pulled by reindeer ready to take flight,” says architect Emanuele Boaretto, creator and designer of Y-40 The DeepJoy.

The shows, scheduled for the Sundays of the holiday period (December 21 and 28 and January 4) at 5:30 PM, will offer an engaging experience for spectators of all ages. It will be possible to watch the show both “dry,” from the windows and the underwater tunnel at -5 meters, and directly in the water, for certified freedivers and divers or those trying it for the first time.

Animating the waters with their performances will be Paola Zanaga, competitive freediver from the Y-40 team, Mia Guastadisegni, mermaiding instructor, Gabriela Felicioni, expert freediver and monofin champion, and Giulia Silvestri, a member of the Y-40 staff. Mia Guastadisegni will also hold mermaiding courses on December 21 and January 4, offering everyone the chance to experience the thrill of swimming with a mermaid tail.

Entry to the shows is free and without reservation, until seats are filled. Y-40 will be open to visitors throughout the holiday period, except on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day, offering the opportunity to explore this unique place, take photos, and discover the activities taking place in its thermal waters, with temperatures between 32 and 34°C. Visitors can also enjoy breakfast or an aperitif in the panoramic bar located at -5 meters deep, admiring the freedivers and divers training.

An unmissable opportunity to experience the magic of Christmas in an extraordinary setting, among mermaids, lights, and enchanting atmospheres, in the deepest thermal pool in the world.
