The free sale of tickets for the Milan Cortina Winter Paralympic Games starts today, exactly one year from the Opening Ceremony at the Verona Arena.
365 days until the Opening Ceremony at the Arena di Verona. Today marks the official countdown for the Milan Cortina 2026 Paralympic Winter Games. A highly anticipated event that will begin exactly one month after the Winter Olympic Games scheduled from February 6 to February 22, 2026.
Starting today, it will be possible to purchase tickets to attend the Paralympic show with prices starting from 10 euros for Under 14. There will also be 200,000 tickets available for less than 35 euros. Given the great success of the ticket sales for the Olympics with already 613 thousand sold, a real hunt is expected until the last available ticket.
There will be 6 Paralympic disciplines: from Ice Hockey which will take place in Milan, to Alpine Skiing, Snowboard, and Wheelchair Curling all happening on the slopes of Cortina. Val di Fiemme, in Tesero, will instead be the stage for the Cross-Country Skiing and Biathlon competitions.
665 athletes from all over the world are expected to participate, with three Paralympic villages available. Of course, Milan and Cortina, but also Predazzo. A total of 79 gold medals are up for grabs, divided into 39 for men, 35 for women, and 5 in mixed events. A show within the show with the closing ceremony scheduled for March 15 at the Ice Stadium in Cortina d’Ampezzo.
Ambassadors
The new Ambassadors who will accompany the pre-Paralympic events have also been announced. Fifteen champions who will embody the spirit of the Games. Among them are three athletes who will actively participate in the competitions of the Italian National Para Ice Hockey team in a year: Alessandro Andreoni, Gabriele Lanza, and Andrea Macrì.
Many of them have made us rejoice in the past and crowned their careers at the Paralympics in Paris 2024. Among all, the most decorated Italian athlete of all time with 3 golds and 4 silvers. The Champion in the 100 meters Martina Caironi, recently joined the Legacy team of the Milan Cortina 2026 Foundation.
Next in line in skiing is Renè De Silvestro, winner of a silver in giant slalom and a bronze in slalom at Beijing 2022, the multi-winning pair Giacomo Bertagnolli and Andrea Ravelli, Giuseppe Romele (also a champion in Swimming and triathlon). From cycling come Lorenzo Bernard and Davide Plebani, Simone Barlaam, Antonio Fantin and Giulia Ghiretti from swimming. On the other hand, Giada Rossi comes from table tennis. It will be the debut of Orietta Bertò in wheelchair curling.
