On March 21, Treviso will transform into the world capital of Tiramisù, celebrating World Tiramisù Day with an unmissable event for all lovers of the famous Italian dessert. The day, organized by the Tiramisù World Cup, promises a rich program of events, including a conference, a themed tour, and a tasting of the best variations of Tiramisù.
TREVISO. World Tiramisù Day is a unique opportunity to celebrate a symbol of Italian culinary tradition, loved all over the world. This year, Treviso, a city that claims the birthplace of the dessert, is preparing to welcome enthusiasts and curious visitors for a day dedicated to taste and discovery.
The heart of the event will be the conference “Tiramisù: stories of sweets, traditions, and families,” which will take place in the prestigious Salone dei Trecento, in Piazza dei Signori. Starting at 10:30, the protagonists of the Tiramisù story will gather to share anecdotes, behind-the-scenes stories, and curiosities related to the famous dessert. Among the participants will be representatives from the Accademia del Tiramisù and Tiramisù per Maffioli, the heirs of the ancient “Dolce Livenza,” the Friulian “Coppa Vetturino” from Pieris, and the “Tirimi sù” from Tolmezzo, as well as the heirs of Alba Campeol and Roberto “Loli” Linguanotto from the restaurant “Le Beccherie.”
“It will be a special moment to retrace the history of Tiramisù through the voices of those who have contributed to making it an icon,” explain the organizers. “We will hear the stories of the families who claim the dessert’s origin and discover the different versions that, over time, have led to the official recipe we all know.”
But World Tiramisù Day will not be just theory. From 10:00 to 18:00, at the Loggia dei Trecento, champions from past editions of the Tiramisù World Cup will be present with their creations, offering the public the chance to taste their interpretations of the original recipe. An unmissable opportunity to savor the different nuances of flavor and texture that Tiramisù can offer.
For those who wish to deepen their knowledge of the history of Tiramisù and the places that claim its origin, starting at 14:30, it will be possible to participate in the Tiramisù Tour, a short guided journey within Treviso. The tour, meeting in Piazza dei Signori, will lead participants to discover the behind-the-scenes stories and curiosities related to the famous dessert. Reservation is mandatory.
