Trump, the plot (the conspiracy) and the weave

1 Mins read

Everything hangs in the air, after the latest attack at the grand gala dinner at the Hilton in Washington, where an armed man disrupted the President’s security

Staged, or a staging with the White House correspondents still stunned discovering on X a shot taken behind the scenes by the Reuters agency. In the same photo, we see the head of the Pentagon, Pete Hegset, far from scared, but relaxed and smiling. All of this right after the shooting. But there’s more; in the days leading up to the attack, the president’s spokesperson Karoline Leavitt, during an interview with Fox News, had interpreted statements like “They will shoot heavy arrows,” alluding to the speech Trump was supposed to give. And so this allusion, having a double meaning, would have nothing to do with the attack. In English slang, “shots fired” actually means verbal jabs. And here, it becomes clear how the narrative would be different. Conspiracies and plots, the challenge seems open and in many respects contradictory. Then there’s the fundamental chapter of the security service’s failure; there are loud questions about how a potential killer could have arrived at the grand gala undisturbed and armed. In this powerful and seductive narrative, Iran also barges in with the Tasnim news agency, which does not yet have the marks of officiality but fully emphasizes that the shooting “has raised doubts and questions from the very first minutes.” Heaven help us, even if the occasion was frankly juicy. On the table, now filled with poison, remain theories and slow-motion analyses that, rewinding the tape to previous attacks, risk contaminating the scene, with the future of the Tycoon perhaps hanging by a thread or strongly boosted by these dangerous events. It’s difficult to speculate now where all this will lead, given the enormous stakes at play.
