The second edition of the Day of the Venetian Villas will take place on October 21 and 22, 2023 and promises to exceed the 12,000 people who participated last year.

Situated between Veneto and Friuli-Venezia Giulia, there are 70 villas participating in the Day, during the weekend of October 21st and 22nd, offering over 120 experiences, organized into thematic categories:
Heritage (cultural heritage visits);
Green (outdoor activities linked to sustainability);
Family (family-oriented experiences);
Wine and Food (tastings);
Dream (accommodations);
GenZ Proposal (dedicated to Generation Z);
Well being (wellness).

The news of the 2023 edition

The innovations introduced this year support the mission of the Day by anchoring it to its distinctive principle, which aims to lead the Venetian Villa out of the mere monumentality in which it had been confined until recently, to return to being a living organism, a place of action, a productive center with significant economic and social repercussions. A Good around which to build a community. A Machine or, as Palladio would say, a factory generating beauty (some Venetian villas are already UNESCO Heritage Sites, boasting illustrious architects such as Palladio or Scamozzi and cycles of frescoes by masters like Tiepolo or Veronese) starting from its essential role in safeguarding the landscape and biodiversity.

Among the most interesting news of this year to make the Day appealing to the national and international public (in addition to the English website) there is the Itineraries proposal, that is paths from Villa to Villa organized by destination geographical areas, capable of providing the tourist with more experiences in multiple Villas.

The Villas participating in the Day

The Venetian Villa embodies current values: slow living, well-being, sustainability, proximity tourism, zero kilometer food and wine excellence, exclusive stays, meeting with the owners, sometimes direct heirs of the noble patricians who built their Venetian palaces on the mainland. These are some of the highlights of the Villa’s vocation built during the time of the Serenissima, now the main strategic mission in climate, economic, and social policies.

Here for example that Well being gives us the opportunity to think of the Venetian Villa as a place for yoga, or meditation walks, but also the possibility of remaining immersed in noble silence, finally disconnected from the many devices that now tyrannize our lives or far from the noise of the cities.
GenZ instead emphasizes a theme that has always been very dear to the Venetian Villas: on one hand the digital transition that helps to make stories and places known in a simple and effective way, on the other hand the intergenerational transition.

The Villas participating in the project – organized by region and province of belonging – as well as all the experiences activated can be booked on the website www.giornatavillevenete.it.

The event is sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, the National Tourism Agency, the Veneto Region, and the Friuli-Venezia Giulia Region.
