| “With this call, we are allocating over three million euros because we believe that audiovisual is an extraordinary tool to tell the story of Veneto to the world,” says Councillor Valeria Mantovan. “The numbers support us: from 2023 to today, 15 million euros have been invested in 73 total productions including short films, documentaries, and virtual reality works. The first 29 works supported by the Region with contributions of about 4 million euros have generated 12 million euros in economic impact on the territory and brought three films: Le Città di pianura, Primavera and Duse, to nominations for the David di Donatello, with a record number of statuettes won at the awards. This is the high quality of the ‘Veneto model’, capable of uniting artistic excellence and job development.” The regional council has approved a new allocation of over 3 million euros dedicated to the 2026 call for film production. The initiative aims to support Italian and European audiovisual companies that choose Veneto as a set for their productions. The measure provides non-repayable contributions divided by type of work: up to 250,000 euros for feature films; up to 350,000 euros for television series; up to 36,000 euros for documentaries, short films, and virtual reality works. Requests for this first window can be submitted from today until June 30, 2026 (5:00 PM). The application must be completed and submitted exclusively online, at the link: https://www.regione.veneto.it/web/programmi-comunitari/sistemainformativofondirve. The economic impact on the territory, a true engine of development, is distributed as follows: about 7 million euros have involved local workers and professionals, while 3.5 million have concerned services related to productions – transport, logistics, catering, and rentals – and an additional 1.5 million have impacted the tourism and hospitality sector. The productions completed so far have involved over 1,000 professionals residing in Veneto for a total of about 179 thousand hours of work, in addition to more than 1,800 extras for a total of over 20,000 hours. “With this intervention, the Veneto Region takes a concrete step to strengthen the competitiveness of its production system in the audiovisual sector,” emphasizes the regional councillor for Economic Development Massimo Bitonci. “The planned investment not only directly supports local businesses but also aims to attract new national and international productions, generating significant economic impacts across the entire supply chain. This is a strategic opportunity to stimulate growth, qualified employment, and new investments in the territory.” “The investment is part of the strategy of the PR Veneto FESR 2021-2027, aimed at enhancing the competitiveness of local businesses and promoting the establishment and development of national and international productions that choose Veneto as a privileged location for filming, while also enhancing the regional landscape and artistic heritage,” continues Mantovan. “A strategic action that in recent years has contributed to making the region increasingly attractive for the audiovisual sector, thanks to the quality of the infrastructure, the variety of landscapes, and the presence of highly qualified professionals.” “Results of this kind strengthen the strategic role of support policies for the sector, highlighting not only the direct economic return but also the structural effects on the territory: growth of the induced, consolidation of local skills, and increased attractiveness for new productions. The achievement of these important goals is also made possible thanks to the operational support of the Veneto Film Commission, a strategic partner of the Region in facilitating the establishment of productions and enhancing local professionals in the sector,” adds Mantovan. “We will continue to invest in quality cinema because we believe that audiovisual is a fundamental tool for promoting the cultural identity of our region.
