With a crowded Piazza San Marco hosting about 20,000 people including residents and tourists, the Venice Carnival 2025 officially began, this year dedicated to the theme “The time of Casanova.”
Venice. The inaugural evening, full of shows and entertainment, was dedicated to love with the initiative “Heart to heart.” Numerous couples, Italian and foreign, took part in the “Shout your love” contest, declaring their love loudly from the stage set up in the heart of Venice.
Presenting the evening dedicated to lovers were Marco Maccarini and Chiara Perale, accompanied by the eclectic Prince Maurice, in the role of Casanova, and the jester Manuel Bruttomesso (alias Nespolo Giullare) who portrayed a funny and original Don Giovanni.
Also on stage were Jacopo Sarno and Silvia Scartozzoni, stars of the musical “Casanova Operapop” signed by Red Canzian, who enchanted the audience with some of the most exciting songs of the show, introduced by Red Canzian himself.
The Venice Carnival 2025 promises to be an event full of emotions, shows, and tradition, with a busy schedule of events that will enliven the lagoon city until the grand finale.
