The Municipality of Venice announces the imminent introduction of the “Venice Access Contribution,” an initiative aimed at managing and regulating tourist flows in the lagoon city. Starting from Friday, April 18, 2025, for a total of 54 days, visitors will be required to pay a contribution to access the historic center.
VENICE. The municipal administration has organized a press conference to provide all the details regarding the implementation of the contribution. The Tourism Councillor, Simone Venturini, and the Budget Councillor, Michele Zuin, will be present today, Friday, April 18, at 9:00 am in the square in front of Santa Lucia Railway Station to answer journalists’ questions and clarify every aspect of the initiative.
“The Access Contribution represents an important step towards the sustainable management of tourism in Venice,” stated Councillor Venturini. “We aim to ensure a quality visiting experience for both residents and tourists, while preserving the fragility and uniqueness of our city.” Councillor Zuin added: “The resources generated from the contribution will be reinvested in city services, improving the livability and quality of the tourist offer.”
