Venice: “The city protagonist in scientific research”

At the Open Symposium the European Strategy for Particle Physics and the commitment to renewable energies

VENICE – The president of the Lido Pellestrina Municipality, Emilio Guberti, took part this morning in the Open Symposium of Venice, an important international event dedicated to the future of particle physics. The event, which gathers experts and institutions from all over Europe, aims to define the new European Strategy for Particle Physics (ESPP), in preparation for the expected update in 2026.

“It is an honor for Venice to host an event of such importance – stated Guberti – which addresses fundamental issues such as scientific research and renewable energies. Our city is already actively involved in this field and we will continue to invest in research and innovation”.

During the symposium, it was highlighted that the update of the ESPP is an open and inclusive process, carried out every 5-7 years, taking into account the latest scientific developments worldwide. The main objective is to outline a clear roadmap for the future of physics, with particular attention to the next major project of CERN.

Venice is once again confirmed not only as a city of art and culture, but also as a place for scientific dialogue and vision for the future.
