From 12 to 17 October, the 26th edition of the festival brings Oscar-winning directors, VFX masters and stars of digital cinema blockbusters to Turin
TURIN (ITALY) – The lights of world cinema shine on Turin. From 12 to 17 October 2025, the Piedmontese capital will host the 26th edition of VIEW Conference, Italy’s most important event dedicated to animation, visual effects, artificial intelligence and digital entertainment.
Organised between Piazza dei Mestieri and OGR Torino, with special screenings at Cinema Massimo, the event confirms its status as an international reference point for professionals, students and enthusiasts in the sector.
‘VIEW Conference has always been a bridge between cinema stars and the public,’ said Maria Elena Gutierrez, director of the event, ‘an opportunity to discover the behind-the-scenes of the world’s greatest productions.’
This year’s line-up is extraordinary: expected guests include Dean DeBlois, director of the How to Train Your Dragon saga, Domee Shi, Oscar winner for Bao and Pixar director of Elio, and Madeline Sharafian, co-director of the Disney/Pixar project.
Alessandro Carloni, director of The Cat in the Hat for Warner Bros Animation, and Pierre Perifel, who together with VFX supervisor Matt Baer will present Despicable Me 2, the sequel to the DreamWorks hit, will also be in Turin.
There will also be space for new Netflix projects with Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhans (KPop Demon Hunters), and the team behind In Your Dreams, created by Alex Woo, Nicola Lavender and Sacha Kapijimpanga for Netflix/Sony Pictures Imageworks/Kuku Studios.
Among the big names in the film industry are Doug Chiang, vice president and creative director at Lucasfilm, and Phil Tippett, visual effects legend and founder of Tippett Studio.
On the VFX front, speakers will include Pablo Helman (Industrial Light & Magic), Dale Newton (Framestore), Christian Manz (Dragon Trainer), David Vickery (Jurassic World: Rebirth), Craig Hammack (Lilo & Stitch) and Stéphane Nazé (Superman).
Rounding out the technical and creative panel are Richard Kerris (NVIDIA) and Janet Lewin (ILM), along with experts who have worked on franchises such as Fantastic Four, The Penguin (HBO), The Rings of Power and the new F1 Movie.
