Bricolo (Veronafiere): “Working with institutions to promote Italian wine worldwide”

VERONA. The 57th edition of Vinitaly, the international wine and spirits exhibition, is now in full swing at Veronafiere until today. With over 4,000 exhibitors from all Italian regions and the exhibition center fully occupied, Vinitaly confirms its position as the main global hub for the promotion and internationalization of Italian wine.

The 2025 edition marks a new milestone in terms of international participation: over 30,000 foreign operators from 140 countries are expected in Verona, including 3,000 professionals from the United States. This result consolidates the record achieved last year and underscores the global appeal of the event.

During the inauguration, the President of Veronafiere, Federico Bricolo, reiterated the strategic commitment to strengthen the presence of Italian wine in foreign markets, particularly in the United States.

“In a complex economic context, we continue to work alongside institutions to support our businesses. We will soon be in Washington, guests of the Italian Embassy, together with members of the US Congress and the National Italian American Foundation, to enhance the uniqueness of Italian wine and promote the next edition of Vinitaly.USA in Chicago, scheduled for October 5 and 6.”

Also fundamental in this edition is the incoming plan carried out with ICE Agency, which brought 1,200 top buyers from 71 countries to Verona, six more than in 2024. Among the most represented non-EU markets are the United States, Canada, China, the United Kingdom, and Brazil, as well as India, Singapore, Japan, and South Korea. On the European front, there is a strong presence of buyers from Germany, Switzerland, Nordic countries, and the Balkan area.

The inauguration was attended by numerous authorities, including the Mayor of Verona Damiano Tommasi, the President of the Province Flavio Massimo Pasini, the Vice-President of the European Parliament Antonella Sberna, the President of the ICE Agency Matteo Zoppas, and ministers Luca Ciriani, Alessandro Giuli, Adolfo Urso, Francesco Lollobrigida, as well as the President of the Veneto Region Luca Zaia.

Also present were the top executives of Veronafiere: the CEO Maurizio Danese, the general director Adolfo Rebughini, and the managing director and CEO of SIMEST, Regina Corradini D’Arienzo.

Vinitaly 2025 continues therefore as an essential reference point for the sector, blending business, culture, and economic diplomacy, consolidating the role of Italian wine as an ambassador of Made in Italy worldwide.
