Woman, John Lennon’s tribute to all women

1 Mins read

It was 1981 when John Lennon dedicated this masterful piece not only to his wife Yoko Ono, but ideally to all women

A wonderful text that combines love and admiration, with John showcasing this splendid piece of craftsmanship expressing gratitude and wonder for all women. “Woman” is a melody so immediate that it strikes from the first listen and sticks to the soul for its aesthetics, sound, and of course, content. A precious treasure chest, to look into whenever we feel the need to thank the female universe without which the world would be orphaned and would boast of love, the real one. “Woman,” written during a trip to Bermuda, is a talented and creative tribute to women, often compared and described as an adult version of “Girl” by the Beatles, and still sounds today like a modern and moving whisper, almost like a message of apology and love, and was released as the second single from the album Double Fantasy, later becoming the first posthumous single after Lennon’s assassination on December 8, 1980.
