On April 10th, World Homeopathy Day is celebrated worldwide. The date was chosen to commemorate the birth of Samuel Hahnemann (April 10, 1755), who is considered the founder of homeopathic medicine.
Homeopathy is still a debated discipline and very often “communicated” in an incorrect way. Often there is disinformation provided to portray it in a negative light or label it as a pseudo-science.
According to FIAMO, the Federation of Homeopathic Doctors, “what is true, instead, is that there is evidence in the literature supporting Homeopathy, both as clinical research and as basic research (hypotheses on the mechanism of action of high dilutions).
Certainly, new studies are expected and research needs to be significantly expanded, but that does not mean that “there are no studies on the effectiveness of homeopathic medicine,” as some would still like to argue.
The National Federation of Orders of Surgeons and Dentists (FNOMCEO) has expressed its position by organizing mandatory training criteria for the qualification of Homeopathic doctors. Since 2002, Homeopathy has been recognized as a “medical act,” and from this it is clear that in order to practice as a Homeopath, conducting a complete examination with related prescription, it is necessary to have a degree in Medicine and Surgery (or Dentistry or Veterinary) and be registered with a provincial Order. It is also necessary to have completed specific and recognized training to receive the qualification of “Homeopath.”
The homeopathic medicine will be included in the formulary by AIFA (Italian Medicines Agency) as a drug, so it cannot be referred to as a “preparation.”
On April 10th, all Homeopaths, associations, and schools of Homeopathy organize themselves to provide the general population with the most accurate and up-to-date information regarding homeopathic medicine.
We are fine…..naturally
On the occasion of World Health Day, the Italian Association of Homotoxicology Medicine (AIOT) promotes the initiative “We are well…..naturally”: free check-ups offered throughout Italy by doctors who are members of AIOT. The aim is to present healing solutions that support the body’s physiological defense functions and to raise awareness among patients about the importance of proper prevention and healthy lifestyles.
