In Jesolo, this year as well, the Blue Flag is awarded, a recognition given by the Foundation for Environmental Education to European coastal locations that meet quality criteria related to bathing water parameters and the services offered, taking into account, for example, the cleanliness of the beaches and tourist landings.
Jesolo – The Mayor Christofer De Zotti, yesterday in Rome to receive the award, along with the councilor Andrea Carpenedo, commented: “Once again this year Jesolo wins the Blue Flag, an award that recognizes the quality of our sea, the beach, and the services we provide daily to citizens and guests. An important achievement that should never be taken for granted: every year the required standards are high, and every year our city proves to be up to the task thanks to the constant work of the administration, the operators, and the entire community.
We have directed our choices towards environmental protection and the enhancement of the coastline through, for example, the introduction of a smoking ban on the beach, the extension of the operating period of beach services, and changes to the rules for enjoying the sea with your pet, as well as the historic allocation of over 20 million euros for the construction of structural works to protect the coast from erosion.
Jesolo continues to stand out among the main Italian seaside resorts, driven by a vision focused on sustainability, quality, and the enhancement of our coastline. A goal that makes us proud and encourages us to look ahead with responsibility and determination.
