After a wait of several years, the historic Festa dei Buranelli makes its triumphant return to the heart of Treviso, promising three evenings of conviviality, music, and rediscovery of the city’s roots in Piazza Rinaldi from July 16 to 18, 2026
TREVISO. After a few years of pause, the Festa dei Buranelli, one of the most cherished and historic events of the Treviso community, is ready to revive Piazza Rinaldi. From Thursday, July 16 to Saturday, July 18, 2026, the historic center will transform into a vibrant stage of traditions, gastronomy, and music, thanks to the commitment of the Pro Loco Tarvisium Association, in collaboration with the Municipality of Treviso and the valuable support of Banca Prealpi Sanbiagio.
The inauguration of the festival will take place on Thursday, July 16 at 6:30 PM with a significant religious ceremony. At the chapel in Piazza Rinaldi, the Missionary Fathers of P.I.M.E. will celebrate Our Lady of Mount Carmel, a deeply rooted observance in the neighborhood’s devotion. This moment of spirituality will be enriched by the melodies of the harp, performed by Francesca Fiori and Giorgia Criveller from the Manzato Musical Association, creating a suggestive and touching atmosphere.
The date of July 16 is not random, coinciding with the liturgical feast of the Blessed Virgin Mary of Mount Carmel. This celebration commemorates the apparition of the Madonna to Saint Simon Stock in 1251 and the gift of the scapular, a symbol of protection. In the Buranelli neighborhood, this devotion has been passed down from generation to generation around the dedicated chapel, a true identity landmark. During the ceremony, heartfelt thanks will be expressed to the benefactors who have contributed to the care of the chapel, and Adele Zaniol will be remembered, who dedicated herself with great passion to its maintenance, always ensuring its decorum and floral embellishment.
Immediately after the religious ceremony, the festival will come alive with the opening of the food and wine stand. Visitors will be able to indulge in the authentic flavors of Venetian tradition: sarde in saor, baccalà mantecato, cuttlefish with polenta, fried fish, and the typical folpetti. On Friday evening, the culinary offerings will be enriched with traditional bigoli in salsa and bigoli with duck sauce. Sweet temptations like fresh watermelon and the ice cream cart will also be available, along with entertainment for all ages: wooden games, a vintage amusement park, and numerous initiatives designed for children and families. The soundtrack of the evenings will be guaranteed by quality musical performances: La Bisca Trio will enliven Thursday with their engaging sounds, the Onde Beat will make the audience dance on Friday, and the Four Tones will close the festival on Saturday with a varied and captivating repertoire.
