It is indeed a meeting to tell the most unusual aspect of Sandro Pertini, that of the art lover. Thursday, August 27 at 4 PM, M9 – Museum of the 900s, together with the National Library Marciana of Venice, we can save the date of the meeting dedicated to Sandro Pertini’s art collection, protagonist of the exhibition Pertini. The Art of Democracy, which, we remind you, is open until September 13 on the third floor of the museum.

The initiative, titled The Collections of Sandro Pertini. A Journey Through Masterpieces of 20th Century Italian Art and Literature, will feature a lecture by M9 Director Serena Bertolucci who will be pleased to illustrate and share the special and intimate relationship of President Sandro Pertini with art, from a simple admirer and enthusiast to a curious and knowledgeable collector.

Not just images and stories, the meeting aims to serve as a cultural driver for the audience with a clear purpose: the discovery of some of the most significant works from Pertini’s personal collection, a collection that brings us back to his passion for art, but not only that, it increasingly directs us towards a group of artists and intellectuals who will prove decisive for the cultural identity of 20th century Italy.
